IQ Bible App v1.26 Released
Topics got a rebuild. Every reference now shows its verse, topics are grouped by book, and an open topic is a link you can share. Plus a fix for the topics that came up empty.
What’s new in v1.26

Four releases this week. All of them went to one place. Explore > Topics.
Topics were the weak spot. You opened one like “love” and got a wall of pills. Each pill held a citation and nothing else. To read the verse you hovered. On a phone you couldn’t hover. So on a phone you couldn’t read it.
We fixed that first.
Every reference shows its verse
Each reference is now a row. The verse text sits on top and the citation pill sits under it. It’s the same shape as Cross-refs and Prophecies. Tap a row and the verse opens in its chapter.
If you want the old pills back, there’s a List / Compact toggle. The biggest topics stay compact. Some have more than 2,700 references. Loading all that text at once would slow the page. Their previews load when you hover.
Some references come back from the API with no verses. Those used to look like any other pill and do nothing when you pressed them. Now they’re dimmed and say “No verses available for this reference.” Nothing pretends to work.
A wall becomes a shelf
The pills used to sit in one pile. Now they sit under headings. Old Testament and New Testament. Then each book, with a count. The pill inside carries only the chapter and verse, since the book is already on the heading.
There’s a Book order / Relevance toggle. Book order runs Genesis to Revelation. Relevance puts the best verses first. Nave and Torrey topics follow the headings from their own books.
The topic list shows how many references each topic holds. Under All, it also shows which edition the topic came from. If a name lives in both editions, the one you click is the one that opens.
Related topics show up as “See also” links at the bottom.
Send someone a topic
An open topic now has its own address. It looks like #explore/topics/love. For a Nave and Torrey topic it looks like #explore/topics/love/nave-torrey. Paste it to a friend and they land on the topic.
Before this, a shared link could lose the topic while the page loaded. The address rewrote itself to #explore/topics and if you refreshed, the topic was gone. That’s fixed.
The topics that came up empty
Some Nave and Torrey topics are only pointers. “Abarim” points to “Nebo.” It has no verses of its own. The app said “No citations for this topic.” That was wrong. It now shows the topic it points to as a link. In the list, the row says “Cross-reference” and not “0 references.”
Small things
Topic names now start with a capital in the list, on the topic page and on the chips. In 1.26.2 we went further and capitalized every word. “Son Of God.” “Jesus, The Christ.” God and Christ come out right. The small words get capitals too. That’s the price. The API sends the names in lower case, so this is display only. Shared links keep the lower-case name.
Clickable rows now show the pointing hand. Topics, Harmony sections, Atlas places, audio narrations and people results all had the plain arrow before.
We also bumped the offline cache version. It hadn’t moved since 1.20.0. That meant a deploy could leave old files sitting on your device. It matches the release now.
Some of this leans on new work in the API. Topic counts, verse text and “See also” links all come from API v2 rc.8 and rc.9.
